Our tallow cream is made with natural ingredients that are safe for all skin types and can be applied anywhere externally, from head to toe. Due to the natural preservative properties of tallow and the other ingredients we use, which are rich in Vitamin E, our products have a long shelf life and excellent stability. We recommend using them within one year if kept sealed in a cool, dark place.

For best results, it’s important to keep bacteria out of the jars. Avoid introducing moisture or contaminants by using clean, dry hands when applying the products. Store them in a cool, dry place, away from humidity, to maintain their quality and extend their shelf life.

Our tallow is sourced locally from Honestly Beef, a family farm in Mississippi known for its high quality and standards. We use suet fat, a nutrient-rich fat located around the kidneys, loins, and heart. It contains fewer polyunsaturated fatty acids, making it firmer, purer, and best for skincare. We render it ourselves to ensure the utmost purity and quality in each of our products.

We use jojoba oil because it is uniquely suited for skincare. Unlike olive or castor oil, jojoba is technically not an oil but a liquid wax, which gives it exceptional stability and resistance to oxidation. This means it doesn’t go rancid as quickly, ensuring a longer-lasting, fresher product. Jojoba oil is also more similar to the skin’s natural sebum, making it highly nourishing and easily absorbed without clogging pores. Additionally, our jojoba oil is cold-pressed and sourced from trusted suppliers, offering a level of purity and performance that stands out.

Tallow and jojoba oil are considered stable because they are naturally low in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which are fats with multiple double bonds. This stability means they resist breaking down or oxidizing when exposed to heat, light, or oxygen.

In contrast, many skincare products contain high-PUFA oils that can go rancid when exposed to air, sunlight, or indoor lighting. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can be potent, which is why they need to be properly diluted to ensure safety. Diluting them at 2% ensures that the essential oils provide their therapeutic benefits without overwhelming the skin or causing irritation. This dilution level helps to maintain the effectiveness and scent of the oils while keeping the product safe for everyday use on all skin types. We prioritize your skin’s health by carefully balancing the strength of the oils with their safety.

Tallow naturally changes consistency with temperature because it doesn’t contain any preservatives, and it’s primarily made of saturated fats. This DOES NOT mean it’s bad!

If your tallow cream feels too hard when it arrives, it likely traveled in cold temperatures. Simply let it warm to room temperature, and it should soften. If it’s still firm, you can gently warm it in your hands before use.

If your tallow cream seems too soft or melted, it may have been exposed to heat during transit. Allow it to cool and settle at room temperature, or place it in the fridge to speed up the process. Even if it doesn’t return to a fully whipped texture, the balm-like consistency is just as effective and nourishing—just use a smaller amount, as a little goes a long way!

No! While some people may have had negative experiences with tallow products smelling like a cow, this is typically due to poor-quality tallow or improper rendering methods. I take extra care to ensure that doesn’t happen by using high-quality suet fat and rendering it multiple times for extra purification. This multi-rendering process removes any impurities and ensures there are not any unpleasant odors, leaving behind a clean, neutral scent that blends beautifully with the other ingredients in our skincare. You’ll only notice the natural, subtle aromas of the oils used in the product!
